israel, gaza - The Israel Security Cabinet has approved the ceasefire agreement with Hamas in Gaza, allowing for the release of prisoners.

Israel Security Cabinet Approval

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced the approval of the ceasefire agreement in the Security Cabinet, after evaluating all its political, security, and humanitarian aspects.

Smotrich Convinced

Netanyahu successfully convinced the far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who originally opposed the ceasefire agreement, to support it ahead of the Cabinet meeting.

Three hostages are expected to be freed today following the agreement.

Israel is preparing for troop withdrawal from Gaza as part of the expected 42-day initial phase of the agreement.
