damascus - ISIS has carried out its first attack on the new Syrian government, targeting a military vehicle with an explosive device in the desert area. One person was killed, and three soldiers were injured in the attack.

ISIS Targets New Syrian Government in Deadly Attack

ISIS has made its first move against the recently formed Syrian government by detonating an explosive device near a military vehicle, resulting in casualties.

Details of the Attack

According to reports, the attack involved a remotely detonated landmine, causing the death of a civilian accompanying Syrian government forces in the desert. Three soldiers were also wounded in the incident.

ISIS, once controlling significant parts of Syria and Iraq, suffered military defeat in Syria in 2019 with the help of Kurdish forces and an international coalition. However, the group remains active in the vast Syrian desert, despite its territorial losses. Attacks in areas controlled by the current Syrian government are rare but not unheard of.
