IS booked again gains in middle Syria

damascus - Warriors Islamic State have won several major gas fields in Syria. The jihadists meanwhile pulled up to a few kilometers from the historic desert city of Palmyra in the middle of the country. That says Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The IS fighters recently yielded heavy fighting with government troops in the area around Palmyra. Doing so would several key areas for gas production are in the hands of the terrorist group.

Islamic State was previously about one year the boss in town, which was conquered in 2015. They blew it include two temples from the Roman era, a triumphal arch and an antique tower. The Syrian government army drove the jihadists earlier this year.
