tehran - Iran is set to hold talks with France, Germany, and the United Kingdom regarding its nuclear program, as confirmed by an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

According to reports, the discussions are taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, with EU representatives also present as mediators. These talks mark the first diplomatic engagement between the countries since the appointment of the relatively more reform-minded Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian last summer.

On Thursday, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) passed a resolution urging Iran to improve cooperation. The agency is seeking clarification on uranium particles discovered at two locations within Iran.

This resolution came following a leaked report from the IAEA, which suggested that Iran might be willing to scale back its production of highly enriched uranium if Western nations ease their sanctions.

The original nuclear deal with Iran from 2015 became defunct after the United States, under then-President Donald Trump, withdrew from it in 2018. Subsequently, Iran also ceased adherence to the agreed upon terms.
