washington - The American authorities are investigating a possible connection between the bloody terror attack in New Orleans and the deadly explosion outside the Trump hotel in Las Vegas on the same New Year's Day.

President Joe Biden stated in a press briefing that a sympathizer of the Islamic State terrorist group drove a pick-up truck into a crowd in the French Quarter of New Orleans, resulting in fifteen deaths and thirty injuries.

Later on the same day, a Tesla Cybertruck loaded with fireworks and gas cylinders exploded in front of the Trump hotel in Las Vegas, killing the driver and injuring seven others. The incident is being treated as a possible act of terrorism.

Although no connection has been confirmed between the two events, the investigation is ongoing. Both vehicles were rented through the same app, Turo. The FBI confirmed that the New Orleans attacker had terrorist motives and was identified as a former U.S. Army veteran. Explosives and an IS flag were found in his rental car.

The FBI is looking into the possibility of accomplices in both incidents. While three suspects in New Orleans were cleared of involvement, the identity of the Las Vegas cybertruck driver remains unknown. Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla, remarked that the attacker had chosen the wrong vehicle, as the Cybertruck partially absorbed the explosion.
