brussels - Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Microsoft will work together in the fight against extremism. They build a joint database of hashes (fingerprints) videos and photos that have been deleted because of the content. They inform each other.
The companies decide what is in the database. A movie that was removed on a site is not automatically deleted in other places.
' We hope that the collaboration will lead to increased efficiency in combating terrorist content online ', informed the company in a statement. It is intended that the database goes live early next year. More companies may join the blacklist.
