Inter Miami Signs Sergio Reguilón on Two-Year Contract

Inter Miami has made a significant move by signing former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United defender Sergio Reguilón to a two-year contract. The deal includes an option to extend through the end of 2028, providing the team with valuable experience and skill.

Reguilón's Background and Ambitions

Reguilón, who recently became a free agent after his contract with Tottenham expired, expressed his excitement about joining Inter Miami and emphasized his goal of winning trophies with the club. The defender brings experience from top European leagues like LaLiga and the Premier League, having played for clubs such as Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, and Sevilla.

His arrival marks Inter Miami's first signing of the transfer window, following their recent MLS Cup victory. The team's roster is undergoing changes as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 season.

Future Plans and Ongoing Negotiations

Inter Miami's co-owner, Jorge Mas, confirmed ongoing discussions with Luis Suárez regarding the player's future with the club. Mas expressed his support for Suárez's decision, whether it involves staying for another year or pursuing other opportunities.

In addition to Suárez, the club is also in talks with several other players, including Allen Obando, Rocco Ríos Novo, Baltasar Rodríguez, and Tadeo Allende. The team bid farewell to Fafà Picault, William Yarbrough, Ryan Sailor, and Marcelo Weigandt as part of their end-of-year decisions.
