ukraine, russia - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announces that the Russian military has carried out intense missile and drone attacks on the country's energy infrastructure.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that the Russian military launched intense attacks on his country's energy infrastructure using missiles and drones. Zelensky stated in a written statement on social media that Russia targeted his country with heavy air strikes, saying, 'We are in the middle of winter and the Russians' goal is the same, our energy sector.'

Zelensky mentioned that the Russian military used more than 40 missiles in this attack, including ballistic missiles, and reported that at least 30 missiles were destroyed by the Ukrainian air defense forces. He also shared information that more than 70 drones were used in the attack, emphasizing the need to constantly strengthen Ukraine's air defense capabilities.

In his statement, Zelensky noted that the decisions regarding air defense support for his country made at the NATO summit in Washington and the Ukraine-focused 'Ramstein' format meetings in Germany have not yet been fully implemented. He mentioned that Ukraine has recently held discussions with allied countries to obtain the necessary license to produce air defense systems, indicating that this solution could be a security guarantee for the country.
