leuven, belgium - A violent confrontation in a prison in Leuven, Belgium leads to inmate pouring boiling sugar water over another prisoner.

Violent Incident in Leuven Prison

An inmate identified as Roberto P. in Leuven Central prison attacked another prisoner by pouring a mix of boiling water and sugar over him. The victim suffered second-degree burns, and two other inmates along with two guards were also affected.

Roberto P. had been serving a twenty-year sentence for a fatal robbery before this incident occurred. The victim of the attack, a man from Kortenberg, had been convicted of child abuse and was serving a ten-year sentence for abusing children over a thirty-year period.

Roberto P.'s lawyer stated that his client targeted individuals convicted of sexual offenses. After the attack, P. continued to harass the victim and expressed satisfaction in a letter, detailing further harm the victim would face.

Despite the seriousness of the incident, Roberto P. did not use the knife he was found with during the attack. The prosecution is seeking a three-year prison sentence for P., whose verdict is scheduled for March 19th.
