athens - Severe injuries have been caused by serious battles between migrants on the Greek island of Lesbos. According to local media, groups of Afghans and Syrians had been put on hold in the refugee camp Moria for unclear reasons.

Among the injured are two pregnant women and one child. At various places in the camp, tents went up in flames. The police and fire brigade went out massively to get things under control.

The refugee camps on several Greek islands are still crowded, despite the fact that about 1650 migrants were transferred to the mainland this month. In Moria there are 5,500 people, while the camp is calculated for 2,330 migrants.
