Immediate danger passed at dam California

World February 14, 2017 22:48

oroville - Nearly 200,000 people in northern California who had to leave their homes because a dam threatened to collapse, may return home. They must remain prepared to leave if the situation changes, but the immediate danger seems over. That of Butte County sheriff Kory Honea notified.

The water for the dam in the reservoir of Oroville has dropped so far that the dam is likely to endure well an expected storm.

The authorities decided to evacuate a large area Sunday when a prolapse in a drain at the 230 meter high dam at the site Oroville north of San Francisco was discovered. Because of the many rains the lake at that time was bursting full.
