- Ikea goes vegan. Balls of mealworms and vegan hot dogs with micro-algae will be on the shelves next to the Swedish meatballs.

Together with research lab Space 10 Ikea has started a project to produce tasty sustainable food. Five classics from the Ikea kitchen get a metamorphosis. The 'eating of the future'.

'In order to make people think differently about food, we need to not only appeal to the intellect, but also tickle the taste buds,' writes Ikea.

The vegan hot dogs will be made from carrot, beet and berry ketchup. The green roll is made from a special micro alga.
