Manchester United Rejects Chelsea's Offer in Garnacho Deal

Manchester United declined Chelsea's offer to include Romeo Lavia or Christopher Nkunku in the transfer deal that saw Alejandro Garnacho move to Stamford Bridge. United expressed concerns over the fitness records of the players offered by Chelsea.

Background

Garnacho, 21, completed a £40 million transfer to Chelsea on Aug. 30 after falling out of favor at United. Despite the need for midfield reinforcements, United rejected the inclusion of Lavia due to his injury-prone history.

Lavia and Nkunku's Challenges

Romeo Lavia, signed by Chelsea in 2023, has been plagued by injuries, missing over 75 games. Nkunku also struggled with fitness issues during his time in England, leading to his move to AC Milan.

Upcoming Fixtures

Chelsea will play against Burnley, while United is set to host Everton in their next Premier League fixtures.
