High Chinese politician sidelined

beijing - Yang Jing, a senior Chinese politician, had to give up his administrative positions. Chinese state press agency Xinhua reported Saturday that Yang has broken the party discipline. He would have had undesirable contacts with 'illegal businessmen'.

Yang has been placed under supervision for one year. The authorities suspect him, inter alia, of using his political influence for illegal activities. Also, relatives of Yang would have accepted bribes. Yang was, among other things, secretary-general of the state council, the Chinese cabinet.
