Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in Beirut at the age of 64. Nasrallah had been leading Hezbollah since 1992 and operated from secret locations in Lebanon to evade Israeli attacks. Known for his reclusive nature, Nasrallah rarely appeared in public and was mainly seen through televised speeches.
Israel has also targeted Fuad Shukr, Nasrallah's deputy, and Ibrahim Aqil, head of the feared Radwan unit in previous operations.
In Gaza, Hamas leader Mohammed Deif was killed in an airstrike on July 13. Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, was also targeted in Tehran. Marwan Issa, second in command of Hamas' military wing, and Salah Al-Arouri, a key figure in Hamas' financial network, were among those killed in Israel's operations.
Yahya Sinwar, the current leader of Hamas, remains a target for Israel. Sinwar, known for his elusive nature, has taken over Hamas after Haniyeh's death.
