Headpiece Wave cartel murdered in prison

monterrey - The suspected leader of the Gulf Cartel in the Mexican town of Altamira was killed in prison, less than two weeks after his arrest. According to Mexican media, Héctor Adrián Lucio Benavides (39) was a leader of the drug cartel and was stabbed to death by two fellow prisoners when he returned to his cell after visiting the doctor. His guard was knocked down.

Lucio Benavides was arrested on August 24 in the company of his companion Christian Aarón Hernández. He was wanted for murder and kidnapping. The violent gang is also involved in drug trafficking, smuggling, money laundering and extortion.
