Hail destroys vineyards near Bordeaux

bordeaux - Short but heavy showers have caused damage to grape plants in vineyards near Bordeaux. Especially vineyards around Blaye and Bourg but also some in the Haut-Médoc are affected, French media reports.

Because of the showers with hailstorms that crossed the Gironde department, vineyards fell and plants were torn apart. According to the wine organization for the Bordeaux, several thousand hectares of vineyards have been destroyed and the appellation Côtes de Blaye has been hit hard.
