nagaizumi, japan - Nagaizumi city in Japan is now home to the world's smallest park, measuring only 0.24 square meters.

Japan's Nagaizumi City Boasts Smallest Park

A stroll is impossible, but a moment of respite is guaranteed at this unique park in Nagaizumi, Japan. The park, measuring a mere 0.24 square meters, has earned an official recognition from Guinness World Records as the 'smallest park in the world'.

Passersby may easily overlook it, as the park consists solely of a wooden block chair accompanied by a small shrub.

Previously, the title of the smallest park belonged to Mill Ends Park in Portland, Oregon. However, a vacationing local from Nagaizumi was inspired to bring the title to Japan. The park in Nagaizumi has been in existence since 1988, referred to by locals as the 'smallest park,' but it had not received official recognition until now.
