athens - The condemnation of a cleaning lady in Greece to a prison sentence of fifteen years has led to great indignation. That's why the woman was released on Wednesday again, because the Supreme Court wants to investigate the case again, Greek media reports.
The 53-year-old housekeeper was given the high prison sentence because she had falsified her elementary school diploma years ago to get a job as a cleaner at a public kindergarten. The woman had only completed five years of primary education instead of the six years required for work as a cleaning lady. In court she said that she was in a desperate situation at the time because she had to take care of her two children and a disabled spouse. She then worked for almost twenty years without complaint for the kindergarten.
