athens, greece - Greece takes action to prevent France from selling Meteor missiles to Turkey, emphasizing strong opposition to the sale.

Greece Raises Concerns Over France's Missile Sale to Turkey

Greece's Defense Minister, Nikos Dendias, summoned the French Ambassador to Athens, Laurence Auer, to request official clarification regarding France's involvement in the sale of Meteor missiles to Turkey. Dendias expressed Greece's strong opposition to such a sale, citing the excellent strategic relationship between Greece and France.

Turkey's efforts to acquire Meteor missiles for its Eurofighter jets have raised tensions, as the missiles are produced through collaboration between Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Sweden. Reports suggest that France withdrew its objection to the sale following intervention by the UK.
