'Giant meteorite' popular among young voters USA

boston - Young Americans are very dissatisfied with the choices they can make this presidential election. Nearly one in four said in a poll they would rather have a 'gigantic meteorite destroys the earth than to see Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in the White House. Reported Reuters.

The question was asked to gauge the degree of dissatisfaction among young Americans about their choices during the elections on 8 November. That says Joshua Dyck, co-director of UMass Lowell Center for Public Opinion, where the poll was conducted.

For months now circulating on Twitter the hashtag '# GiantMeteor2016. A reference to an imaginary presidential candidate used to express frustration about the choices in presidential candidates this year.

About 53 percent of the 1247 respondents between 18 and 35 years, said she would rather see a meteor destroys the earth than that Trump is in the White House. Clinton, that percentage is about 34 percent.

The poll said 39 percent said they prefer that President Obama will remain president for life than Clinton or Donald Trump comes to power. 26 percent announced that America had better do to select the next leader of a random lottery.

'Of course we take them seriously,' Dyck said in a telephone interview. 'The fact that naming our young people 'Giant Meteor' says something about the political discontent among American youth.
