German police solve 25-year-old murder

dortmund - The German police thinks that with the arrest of a 52-year-old man, he has solved an almost 25-year-old murder. Victim was a sixteen-year-old girl from Dortmund who was raped and strangled in October 1993.

The police found out that the suspect, who was detained until 2011 and had various crimes on his or her guard, through new research methods. As a result, a DNA trace on the school student's body could be better processed.

The girl was taken away shortly after she had stepped out of a bus near her parental home in the evening. The suspect probably also stepped out of that bus. A newspaper deliverer found the girl's lifeless body at a school the next morning.

The defendant denies the accusations, according to his lawyer.
