German money for smart Dutch lanterns

- The German company Osram, one of the largest lamp manufacturers in the world, has taken an interest in the Dutch Tvilight. That makes smart streetlights. Thanks to sensors that dim for example, when there is no traffic here, so they have to use less energy.

Osram will receive 47.5 percent of Tvilight hands. It was not disclosed how much the company pays for it.

Tvilight comes from TU Delft, but is now based in Groningen. The company lampposts standing in thirty Dutch cities and in places like Seoul, Istanbul, Cologne and Berlin. The company also provides intelligent lighting to Schiphol and the Dutch Railways.
