A German couple, Ina and Marco O., were sentenced to life imprisonment without parole for the murder of Margarita Razaz and her mother Maryna Stetsenko. The couple's motive was to fulfill their desire for a daughter by taking Razaz's baby.

Razaz, who had fled from Ukraine to Germany due to war, was lured by the couple under the pretense of dinner. They drugged the Ukrainian women and took Razaz and her newborn daughter to their home. Marco brutally murdered the grandmother with a hammer, followed by Razaz, whose body was later burned to cover up the crime.

The police traced the couple after the bodies were discovered, eventually rescuing the baby two weeks later. Suspicion arose among neighbors and colleagues when Marco falsely claimed the baby was his, despite Ina showing no signs of pregnancy.
