German Couple Kept Children Locked Up in Spain Amid COVID-19
Spanish authorities have rescued three children, a twin pair aged eight and a ten-year-old boy, who were found confined in a dilapidated house in Oviedo since December 2021, without any contact with the outside world.
Harsh Conditions
The children, deprived of education and outdoor activities, were reportedly forced by their German parents to wear diapers and masks, living in isolation.
Upon rescue, the children exhibited astonishment at feeling the grass and deep breathing as if experiencing fresh air for the first time, according to a police officer.
The parents, facing arrest, held German nationality, while the children were taken into care by authorities.
