berlin, germany - German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has denied the allegations of visiting Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin before the general elections on February 23.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, at an event in Berlin for the Social Democratic Party (SPD), refuted the claims of his upcoming visit to Moscow by stating, "This is a false allegation, you cannot do this, it is highly inappropriate, there is no basis for it."

Chancellor Scholz also expressed, "Therefore, I believe that sincere people should be angry when false claims are made."

Christian Democratic Union (CDU) member of parliament Roderich Kiesewetter had previously posted on social media platform X, hinting at a surprise in the election campaign, suggesting Chancellor Scholz's potential visit to Moscow before February 23 and meeting with Putin.

Hebestreit, the government spokesperson, mentioned the possibility of legal action against Kiesewetter for his defamatory statement.
