frankfurt - Lufthansa on Wednesday canceled 895 flights due to a strike by ground staff at six German airports. It involves about 60 percent of all flights operated by the German airline.

The strike on Wednesday affects include security, air traffic control and fire at the airports of Frankfurt, Munich, Cologne / Bonn, Dortmund and Hanover. Passengers on flights that do go, have to deal with delays and disruptions, warns Lufthansa.

The airline is fed up of the actions in the collective bargaining conflict in the public sector where it is not a party in itself. Passengers get to see the good advice to the flight information on the Lufthansa website.
