French people no longer need Macron

paris - French President Emmanuel Macron is losing support from his compatriots. In a public opinion poll of the Sunday newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche, only 29 percent of those surveyed said that they were satisfied with Macron.

In a second poll published on Sunday, that percentage is only 28 percent. Just two months ago, two in five French people were satisfied with their president in these two polls. During the elections last year, Macron even won with two thirds of the votes cast.

The polluted complain that the French president seems to represent only the interests of companies and the rich. That image reinforced Macron himself last week, by saying to an unemployed man that he could easily get a job by just doing a bit more.

Minister of the Environment Francois de Rugy said in a response to the polls that see as an incentive: 'They remind us that we must take action. If you want to change something, people will resist. So you have two solutions: or stop in the hope that you will become popular again, or continue while you listen to the French people. '

Macron also loses support within his own cabinet. His popular Minister for the Environment and De Rugy's predecessor, Nicolas Hulot, stepped up because he would not have enough space to implement his policy. And Minister of Internal Affairs Gerard Collomb said he would not sit out last week because he wants to throw himself into the battle for Lyon's mayor in 2020.
