French High-Speed Train Evacuated Due to Storm-Damaged Tracks

Hundreds of passengers on a French TGV train traveling from Toulouse to Paris were evacuated near Tonneins due to storm-damaged tracks, narrowly avoiding a potential disaster.

Evacuation Efforts

Firefighters, police, and volunteers mobilized to evacuate over five hundred passengers using buses, as confirmed by Tonneins' mayor, Dante Rinaudo.

Storm Impact

The storm caused widespread chaos in southern France, with flooding in Lot-et-Garonne and disrupted train services between Agen and Marmande, expected to be suspended for several days by SNCF.

In Var, between Marseille and Nice, streets are flooded, resulting in one fatality.
