paris - France has decided to include 78 refugees who were on the rescue ship Aquarius. That was what the French Ministry of Home Affairs announced. The ship brought the refugees to the Spanish Valencia at the beginning of this month, after it had been refused by Italy.
The migrants are mainly from Eritrea and Sudan. They were classified as vulnerable on Thursday according to the French agency for refugees. The refugees are now housed in various French regions. The Aquarius is located in the port of Marseille.
Italian interior minister Matteo Salvini of the anti-immigration party Lega refuses to allow ships from private aid organizations that rescue refugees in the Mediterranean to Italian ports.
