islamabad, pakistan - Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been sentenced to fourteen years in prison for corruption.

Corruption Case Involving Imran Khan

Pakistani former Prime Minister Imran Khan, aged 72, has been sentenced to fourteen years in prison in a corruption case. The case revolves around a non-profit organization, the Al-Qadir Trust, which the couple established during Khan's premiership between 2018 and 2022. Prosecutors allege that this was a cover for Khan to receive land as a bribe from a property developer. Khan's party claims the land was not intended for personal gain, but for a spiritual educational institute.

72-year-old Khan has been in prison since August 2023 in a facility near the capital, Islamabad. Since the end of his premiership, he has been the subject of several investigations. The former cricketer faces accusations of corruption, abuse of power, and incitement. Khan's wife was initially on bail but has since been detained.
