la paz - Former Bolivia President Evo Morales is under investigation for allegedly raping a teenage girl, resulting in the birth of a daughter. Minister of Justice César Siles confirmed the probe on Thursday.

Former Bolivia President Evo Morales is facing scrutiny as he is accused of raping a teenage girl while in office, leading to the birth of a daughter. Speaking at a press conference, Minister of Justice César Siles expressed outrage over unpunished serious crimes, specifically referencing a girl who was raped at the age of 15 or 16. The girl gave birth to a child after the incident took place eight years ago. The 64-year-old Morales is reportedly listed as the child's father on the birth certificate, which is currently under investigation.

Morales, who served as president of Bolivia from 2006 to 2019, is embroiled in a scandal following allegations that an investigator was fired for requesting his arrest in connection with a human trafficking case involving a minor.

Leaked documents to the press revealed that the then-President Morales had an affair with a 15-year-old girl in 2016, resulting in the birth of a daughter. A judge suspended the arrest request for Morales at that time.
