hiroshima, japan - A forest fire erupted in the city of Etajima in Hiroshima prefecture, Japan, causing panic in the region.

Forest Fire in Hiroshima Prefecture

In a forested area in Etajima city, Hiroshima prefecture, a fire broke out earlier today. Local authorities reported that the fire started around 09:40 local time. The site is within the boundaries of a shooting range belonging to the Japan Self-Defense Forces (SDF), and it was disclosed that explosive training was conducted during the fire.

The fire near residential areas raised concerns. Approximately 150 residents in a nearby nursing home were evacuated for safety reasons. There have been no reports of casualties or injuries so far. Numerous firefighting teams are continuing their efforts to extinguish the flames.

The police announced that an investigation has been initiated to determine whether the fire is related to military training activities on the site and to find the exact cause.
