Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan Highlights Importance of Regional Cooperation

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan delivered a speech at the Turkey-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Trilateral Meeting, emphasizing the significance of enhancing economic and transportation connections among the ancient lands of Turkistan, Caucasus, and Anatolia. He stressed the need for strategic cooperation mechanisms to support development and prosperity in the common geography.

Hakan Fidan also pointed out the challenges in the international system, mentioning the increasing global tensions and the erosion of multilateralism and universal values. He highlighted the Turkish world's commitment to solidarity, integration, and contributing to peace, prosperity, and stability in the region.

Regarding the importance of the Central Corridor in trade between Asia and Europe, Fidan underlined the role of Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, the Caucasus, and Turkey as the most reliable and economical route. He also emphasized Turkey's growing significance as an energy hub due to the disruptions in global supply chains.

Furthermore, Minister Fidan called for support in the reconstruction and development of Syria, noting the positive developments that could lead to regional stability, security, and new opportunities in logistics, trade, and energy sectors. He expressed the intention of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan to explore connectivity projects and collaboration opportunities in various fields.

The ministers will focus on evaluating regional developments, enhancing economic cooperation, and strengthening transportation networks during the summit. They will also discuss diversifying trade partnerships, promoting mutual investments, and advancing cooperation in the transportation and communication sectors.
