Forbidden Film 'Bad Son' Screened in Syria

The film 'Bad Son', banned during the Baath regime, was screened for the first time in the capital city of Damascus, depicting the regime's oppression and tyranny. Directed by Gatfan Gannum, the screening took place at the State Opera House in Damascus. The film, shot in 2024, portrays the regime's cruelty towards the people during the Hafez al-Assad and Bashar al-Assad periods.

Gannum expressed his happiness for the film being shown despite being on the regime's list of banned films, stating, 'I am very happy because of the turnout here. I am proud of their participation.' He further added, 'I had previously expressed my desire for the film to be screened in Syria. I always wish for people to show interest in cinema. Citizens are very enthusiastic about these works. I thank everyone who came to watch the film.'
