- The US House of Representatives on Thursday agreed by a large majority a law that allows tighter security of Syrian refugees. President Barack Obama 's plan to allow 10,000 new Syrian refugees next year, was put on hold.
Support for stronger controls grew in response to terrorist attacks in Paris. Among the voters were also members of Obama's Democratic Party. Obama has already announced that it will pronounce a veto over the new law.
