Five people arrested after fire rescue

hovelhof - Five residents of the refugee reception center in Hövelhof in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia have been arrested in connection with the major fire which more than fifty people were injured. They are suspected of having put mattresses on fire, reported a police spokesman Bielefeld Friday.

Thirty residents were transferred after the fire to the hospital. One victim was seriously injured. The injured have especially suffered from smoke inhalation.

The fire broke out in a barracks of the former military barracks. The building is completely burned, police reported. The fire had extinguished the fire on Thursday night. On the property are approximately five hundred refugees.
