Festival goers robbed with pepper spray

houthalen - Five festival goers at Extrema Outdoor have been sprayed in their faces with pepper spray in their faces and robbed of their chains.

The police eventually arrested a group of Italians aged 22 and 28 who were on the run at the festival grounds where many Dutch people come every year.

The multi-day Extrema Outdoor in Houthalen-Helchteren attracted no less than 50,000 visitors to De Plas in Kelchterhoef.

The police checked this year extra on drugs. A total of 294 people were caught. They were fined 75 to 600 euros which could be settled with the bank card, writes Het Nieuwsblad.

After complaints from local residents about noise nuisance, it was decided to cancel the large afterparty.
