Fear of asylum request for Afghan athletes

Among the five hundred athletes from more than twenty countries, a team from Afghanistan has also reported. The Hague is however worried about the risk that (a few of) the Afghans will apply for asylum in the Netherlands. This was also the case with this year's Invictus Games in Australia, even though that country has a very strict asylum policy. However, those who make a first application within the national borders will be considered.
