FC Cincinnati to Sign Brenner on Loan from Udinese

FC Cincinnati is preparing to re-sign former striker Brenner on loan from Udinese, with an option to make the move permanent. The Brazilian, who scored 27 goals during his time with Cincinnati, is looking to rediscover his form in MLS.

Brenner's History with Cincinnati

Brenner, 25, previously played for Cincinnati for three seasons, where he scored 27 goals in 72 league and playoff matches. His standout performance was in 2022, with 18 goals in 31 appearances.

Struggles in Serie A

After being transferred to Udinese for $11 million in 2023, Brenner found it challenging to make an impact in Serie A, scoring only twice in 19 league and cup games. He now aims to revitalize his career in MLS.

Deal Details and Current Standings

The agreement between Cincinnati and Udinese is expected to be finalized before the MLS summer transfer window closes. Despite Brenner's return, he will not be considered a Designated Player. Cincinnati is currently leading the Eastern Conference with 52 points, closely followed by the Philadelphia Union, and is tied for the Supporters' Shield lead with San Diego FC.
