- FC Cincinnati acquires Evander from Portland Timbers for $12 million, setting a new chapter in his career.

FC Cincinnati Makes Major Signing

FC Cincinnati has signed All-Star Brazilian midfielder Evander from the Portland Timbers in a $12 million deal. The transfer includes a future sell-on and trade percentage for the Timbers, with a chance to earn an additional $150,000 based on performance metrics.

Evander's Impressive Stats

Evander, 26, impressed last season with 15 goals and 19 assists in 28 Major League Soccer matches. His performance earned him the titles of MLS All-Star, MVP finalist, and a spot in the MLS Best XI. In his debut season with Portland in 2023, he scored nine goals and provided five assists in 27 matches.

Timbers and FC Cincinnati Statements

Timbers GM Ned Grabavoy thanked Evander for his contributions and wished him well in his new journey. FC Cincinnati GM Chris Albright expressed excitement over Evander's arrival, highlighting his skills and team spirit. Evander aims to continue his success and help FC Cincinnati strive for trophies.

Replacement for Luciano Acosta

Evander's signing comes as a replacement for star midfielder Luciano Acosta, who was recently traded to FC Dallas. The move showcases FC Cincinnati's ambition and commitment to building a strong roster.

The Arrival of David Da Costa

To fill Evander's spot, the Timbers swiftly secured Portuguese midfielder David Da Costa from RC Lens for a reported $6 million. Da Costa, 24, is known for his versatility on the field and has a promising future ahead.
