united states - Senior officials at the FBI in the US are reportedly being pressured to resign, raising concerns about political interference.

Pressure on Senior FBI Officials to Resign

A group of senior officials at the FBI in the US have allegedly been told to resign by a certain deadline or face termination, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The Washington Post reported that several top-level FBI officials were asked to submit their resignations by Monday, February 3, or they would be fired.

Among those reportedly asked to resign are deputy executive directors, managers overseeing criminal and national security investigations, and senior agents at FBI field offices nationwide.

Concerns Over Political Interference

Many of these officials, who were appointed during the tenure of former FBI Director Christopher Wray, have not yet reached retirement age. Therefore, if they are forcibly removed from their positions, they could lose benefits such as retirement rights, social security, and compensation.

Trump's FBI Director Nominee Patel Vows No Political Revenge

Kash Patel, nominated by President Donald Trump for the position of FBI Director, assured during a confirmation hearing in the US Senate that there would be no politicization at the FBI under his leadership. He stated that he would not seek political revenge against anyone, including those targeted by Trump.

Patel emphasized that all FBI employees would be protected from political retribution and that they would work together to improve the bureau.
