brussels - A 19-year-old man was fatally shot at Clemenceau metro station in Anderlecht, possibly as part of a drug-related settlement.

Details of Fatal Shooting in Anderlecht

On Saturday evening around 9:30 pm, gunshots were fired at the entrance of Clemenceau metro station in Anderlecht. The 19-year-old victim was shot in the back and died on the spot. Camerabe footage revealed at least one of the assailants carrying a military-grade weapon. They fled in a car and are currently at large.

Following recent firearm incidents last week, there was an increased police presence at the metro station. Just 70 meters away, officers were present when the shots were fired on Saturday evening.

Brussels public prosecutor Julien Moinil stated that at least three out of four shooting incidents last week were linked to a violent conflict among drug dealers. The shooting on Saturday night also appears to be drug-related. The Brussels public prosecutor's office indicated that these acts seem to be part of a settlement related to drug trafficking.

Upon being informed of the incident, the Brussels public prosecutor's office appointed an investigating judge for murder charges. The public prosecutor and the judge, accompanied by the federal police laboratory and a ballistic expert, visited the scene. A forensic expert was also called in for investigation.
