'Famine threatens eastern Ukraine '

- The armed conflict in eastern Ukraine are threatened and a half million people with famine. The now two-year conflict is an acute food problem for about 300,000 people. This was announced by the World Food Programme (WFP) Tuesday in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.

Especially in the front region at Lugansk the situation is severe. WFP urges to give the warring parties full access to the area on the UN to allow relief. The organization has monthly for tens of thousands of people with food packages available.
