Facebook: less support in elections in 2020

washington - Facebook will no longer provide immediate support in the future presidential elections, as they did in the Donald Trump campaign in 2016. The social media company had to answer to the US Congress whether it had given more support to Trump than to the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Facebook informed Congress that it had offered identical support to both candidates. The Trump campaign had accepted that offer. Not Clinton's campaign.

In the future, the company will still provide technical support and offer to train campaigns and political organizations. But it will no longer be so frequent to visit the Campaign Headquarters of the campaigns and provide as much strategic help as the company did for Trump in the run-up to the 2016 elections.
