Europol: cybercrime often avoidable

- Most cyber attacks are avoidable. To counter the growing cyber crime, authorities can therefore might better invest in prevention than in investigating individual incidents. Europol wrote in a report published Wednesday.
The European police organization states that 'the majority of the attacks has been refined or advanced.' Although some cybercriminals do possess the necessary skills, it is often more to a lack of 'digital hygiene' which manages a cyber attack. Europol therefore mean that security is often not in order and users are often not sufficiently aware of the dangers.
