European leaders expressed their support for Ukrainian President Zelensky after his tense meeting with US President Trump at the White House. Leaders from Poland, Spain, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Latvia, and Germany, among others, took to social media to show solidarity.

  • Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda assured Zelensky, 'Ukraine, you will never walk alone.'
  • Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store pledged support for Ukraine's just struggle for a fair and lasting peace.
  • Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro and Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina also emphasized their countries' support for Ukraine.

European Union's Backing

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas declared, 'Ukraine is Europe. We stand with Ukraine. We will increase our support to help Ukraine continue the fight against aggression.'

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reassured Ukraine of Germany and Europe's support for finding a path towards a lasting and fair peace.

The EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Council President Antonio Costa shared a joint message, expressing admiration for Zelensky's courage and pledging to work together for a fair and lasting peace.

International Support for Ukraine

Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defense Simon Harris, Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever, and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson all reiterated their support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.

The leaders emphasized the importance of standing together against Russian aggression and supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Former EU High Representative Josep Borrell criticized the behavior of US President Trump and Vice President Vance during the meeting, expressing his disappointment.

The European leaders' messages of solidarity come after a heated discussion between Trump and Zelensky at the White House, which resulted in the cancellation of a joint press conference.
