EU tightens sanctions against North Korea
brussels - The EU proposes tougher sanctions against North Korea. The country should not petroleum products or luxury goods export more to Europe and no longer invest in the EU, as Member States agreed Friday.
The measures following the nuclear test and missile test conducted early this year, the regime in Pyongyang. The sanctions are tightened imposed in March on the basis of a resolution of the UN Security Council because the EU sees the North Korean actions as a serious threat to international security.
Further vessels with North Korean crew no longer come in European ports. Also, more financial assets frozen and travel restrictions are imposed.

European companies may henceforth no longer invest in the mining, refining and chemical sector in North Korea. Financial transactions are hardly allowed. Trade in arms and certain metals was forbidden.
