EP reflects on terrorist attacks Brussels

strasbourg - The European Parliament has discussed the opening of the session in Strasbourg on Monday afternoon at the terrorist attacks in Brussels on March 22.,, A black day for Belgium, a black day for Europe, 'said President Martin Schulz.

He called the attacks,, an atrocity, inhumanity '. Schulz pointed out that,, killers 'have focused' their actions purposefully,, '' against innocent people in Brussels.,, This multilingual, cosmopolitan and tolerant city is the embodiment of our open European society, '' says Schulz. He also called for us,, jointly resist fear and not let us contaminate 'by terror.

On Tuesday, March 22 three terrorists blew themselves up in Brussels: two at Zaventem airport and a metro train at the level of station Maelbeek. 32 people died and over 300 were injured.

On behalf of the EP Schulz expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. After his short speech, the parliament held a minute's silence in memory.
