washington - Elon Musk plans to decrease his government work for the U.S. President in May to focus more on Tesla, amid concerns about the impact of his involvement on the company's performance.

Elon Musk's Plan to Reduce Involvement in DOGE

Elon Musk intends to significantly decrease his role in the government's taskforce DOGE, focusing more on Tesla starting in May. This decision comes after concerns were raised about the impact of his government work on Tesla's performance.

Tesla's Financial Performance

In the first quarter of this year, Tesla reported a 71% decrease in profit compared to the same period last year. Analysts have been warning for months that Musk's involvement in DOGE is negatively affecting the Tesla brand.

Previous Reports and Reactions

Earlier in April, reports surfaced that Musk would step back from his government responsibilities. The White House dismissed these reports as 'tabloid journalism' at the time.
